To Cook Squash:
- Cut the squash into large pieces.
- Put the cut squash into a baking pan, cut-side down.
- Do not add water
- Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 1 to 2 hours.
- Test with a fork for doneness. It should be soft when done.
- Add butter, brown sugaror any other seasoningafter cooking.
Squash does not cook as well if it is cooked cut-side up; that is why I say to add the seasonings after cooking.
The differing types of squash vary widely in cooking times.
